Attending functions in Washington and interviewing people for our book has brought us into contact with some very interesting people and yielded some photos which we would like to share with you. (Click the photos to enlarge.)
Ganzorig Gombusuren has lived a fascinating life. He is from Mongolia where he served as a Judge on that country’s Supreme Court, during the latter part of the communist regime, the bloodless revolution of the early 1990′s and during the early years of Mongolia’s “Great Experiment” in democratic self-rule. It was our pleasure to interview him in June of 2004. He is currently teaching at a local university and the photo was taken outside his home in Arlington, Virginia where he lives with his wife and three children.
G. Gordon Liddy, known to his radio listeners as “the G-Man,” addressed a recent conference here in September 2004. He received an award from the “GOPUSA” which organized the conference and the award gala where this picture was taken.
Bobby Eberle is the President and CEO of GOPUSA and the tireless organizer of this year’s 3-day conference. We had this brief photo-opportunity at the conclusion of the gala.
Gil Davis, the self-titled “country lawyer” from Virginia achieved national prominence when he represented Paula Jones in her successful lawsuit against the incumbent President, Bill Clinton. Currently, he’s running for the position of Lieutenant Governor of Virginia. This picture was taken in his law offices in Fairfax, Virgina right after our interview with him.
John Lott is a fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC. He is the author of several books, most recently “The Bias Against Guns” which we reviewed in an article ****LINK HERE*** in 2003. We bumped into him at the September, 2004 Reagan Gala organized by Frontiers of Freedom, honoring Senator Zell Miller.
Senator Zell Miller (Dem. Georgia) received the Ronald Reagan Award from the Frontiers of Freedom Institute. We were delighted by the opportunity to greet this man and his charming wife Shirley as they were entering the banquet hall at the Renaissance Mayflower hotel. His principled stand against the leftward drift of his Democratic party has angered many Democrats and endeared him to many Republicans, at whose convention he delivered the keynote address.
